# Hire security engineers for software that handles sensitive data.

A release waiting on a security review, an API with unclear access rules, an auditor asking for evidence. We send vetted security engineers who are available and want the work. You decide the access they get and the policies they follow.

[Start a talent brief](https://sdk.enterprises/en/start-a-project?need=talent). [Book a call](https://sdk.enterprises/en/book-a-call).

## When teams bring us this brief

- A security review is blocking a release and your team is stretched
- APIs carry personal or sensitive data and nobody owns the controls
- A project in banking, energy or utilities that needs security in the team from day one

## What the job covers in practice

- **Code and architecture reviews**: Findings against OWASP practices and your own standards, ranked by risk and explained to the developers who fix them.
- **Secure API design**: Authentication, authorization and data minimization built into the API, not added at the end.
- **Secrets, access and audit logs**: How credentials are stored, who can reach what, and a record of who did what.
- **Evidence for auditors**: Written notes on how each requirement is met, for your security team or auditor.

Tools this role often works with: OWASP, Java, Spring Boot, PHP, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, AWS

## How it works

- **Tell us who you need**: A short brief: the role or skills, when they should start and for how long. A rough idea is enough.
- **Get a shortlist**: Vetted people who are available and have said they are interested. You see their experience, skills and why we picked them.
- **Choose for each person**: Hire them directly, or let SDK manage them. Or pass, and we keep looking.
- **They start**: We introduce you and agree the start date. We stay your contact while they work.

## Two ways to work with each person

You decide for each person on your shortlist, so you can mix both on the same team.

- **Hire directly**: They work for you, on your own contract.
- **Let SDK manage them**: They work on your project, under our contract.

## Work our own engineers have delivered

These case studies are our team's track record, not work by the freelancers on your shortlist. Our engineers review every candidate before we propose them.

Through Sopra Steria, our engineers built secure APIs for sensitive utility-sector data under regulatory constraints, and enforced the client's security standards on an internal supervision tool for energy-sector clients.

## Questions before you hire

### Are the engineers you propose certified?

It depends on the person, and you see their experience before you decide. If a certification or clearance is required, put it in your brief. SDK Enterprises itself does not hold ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification.

### Can a security engineer help us with the GDPR?

The work often covers mapping where personal data flows, keeping only what is needed and documenting how each requirement is met. Legal interpretation stays with your lawyers or data protection officer.

### Do we need a security engineer or a security review?

A review tells you where you are exposed today. A security engineer in the team keeps that answer true as the code changes. We can run the review as a project and help you hire for the ongoing work.

### How soon can someone start?

As soon as you both agree a date. Everyone on your shortlist has already told us they are available for your timing.

## What to put in your brief

A rough idea is enough to start. These details help us send the right people.

- The system, the data it handles and the rules that apply to it
- Whether you need a review, hands-on fixes or both
- Any certification or clearance the role requires
