Hire developers

Hire full-stack developers who can ship a feature end to end.

One person who can design the data, write the API and build the screen that uses it. Tell us your stack and your product. We send vetted full-stack developers who are available and want the work, and you choose: hire them directly, or let us manage them.

When teams bring us this brief

  • A small product team that needs one more person who can work on every layer
  • A backlog of features that each touch the API, the database and the interface
  • A founder or product lead with a first version to build and time to steer it
  • An older PHP or Java product that needs someone at ease in its legacy parts

What the job covers in practice

  • Features from database to screen

Model the data, write the endpoint and build the React screen, then ship them together.

  • APIs other teams rely on

Documented endpoints in Laravel, Symfony, Spring Boot or Node.js, with queries and caching that hold up under real traffic.

  • Changes to an existing codebase

Read old code, put tests around it and change it without breaking what already works.

  • Reviews and releases

Review other people's changes and help keep releases routine rather than risky.

Tools this role often works with

  • PHP 8
  • Laravel
  • Symfony
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • Node.js
  • Python
  • React
  • MySQL
  • PostgreSQL
  • Redis

How it works

  1. 01

    Tell us who you need

A short brief: the role or skills, when they should start and for how long. A rough idea is enough.

  2. 02

    Get a shortlist

Vetted people who are available and have said they are interested. You see their experience, skills and why we picked them.

  3. 03

    Choose for each person

Hire them directly, or let SDK manage them. Or pass, and we keep looking.

  4. 04

    They start

We introduce you and agree the start date. We stay your contact while they work.

Two ways to work with each person

You decide for each person on your shortlist, so you can mix both on the same team.

  • Hire directly

They work for you, on your own contract.

    • We introduce you and hand them over
    • They join your team on your terms
    • You manage their work, admin and payments
    • Best when you want them for the long run
  • Let SDK manage them

They work on your project, under our contract.

    • They join your project under SDK's contract
    • We handle the paperwork, admin and payments
    • If it does not work out, we find a replacement
    • Best when you want to start fast with no admin

Work our own engineers have delivered

These case studies are our team's track record, not work by the freelancers on your shortlist. Our engineers review every candidate before we propose them.

Our engineers re-architected critical APIs for NorthStar Network's sports media platform, serving 50M+ monthly users, built Slump's real-time 5G monitoring platform on Laravel, and led an internal supervision tool with APIs and a React front end for energy-sector clients through Sopra Steria.

Questions before you hire

Can I hire a full-stack developer for a few months only?

Yes. Put the start date and how long you need them in your brief. Everyone on your shortlist has already told us they are available for your timing.

Our stack is older, such as CodeIgniter or an old Java version. Is that a problem?

No, but say so in the brief so we look for people who have worked in that kind of codebase. You see their experience before you decide. Our own engineers have upgraded CodeIgniter applications and led a Java 8 to 16 migration.

Should I hire directly or let SDK manage them?

Hire directly if you want them on your team for the long run and can handle their contract and payments. Let SDK manage them if you want to start with no admin, and a replacement from us if it does not work out.

Can you send a front-end and a back-end developer instead?

Yes. Tell us the roles and we send a shortlist for each one. If you need a whole team to deliver the product, we can also run it for you as a project.

What to put in your brief

A rough idea is enough to start. These details help us send the right people.

  • Your stack, and which side matters more: back end, front end or both
  • The product and the first features they would work on
  • When they should start, for how long, and who they would report to
